Parameter Optimization of Droop Controllers for Microgrids in Islanded Mode by the SQP Method with Gradient Sampling

For enhancing the stability of microgrid operation, this paper proposes an optimization model considering small-signal constraint. Due to nonsmooth property spectral abscissa function, droop controller parameters’ is a problem. The Sequential Quadratic Programming with Gradient Sampling (SQP-GS) implemented optimize parameters for solving SQP-GS method can guarantee solution problem globally and efficiently converges stationary points probability one. In current iteration, gradient function be evaluated on set randomly generated nearby by computing closed-form sensitivities. A test system shows that optimality efficiency are better than those heuristic algorithms.
